Caramel Chocolate Pretzel Bites are sweet, salty, crunchy, and totally irresistible! Perfect for parties, gifts, or snacking, they combine caramel, chocolate, and pretzels in one delicious bite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 50 thick pretzel rods
- 12 oz chocolate
- Caramel Sauce:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- Toppings: toffee bits, sprinkles, nuts, white chocolate
Instructions
- Prepare the caramel sauce: In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the candy thermometer reads 230°F (soft-ball stage). Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Dip pretzel rods into the warm caramel and lay them on parchment paper to cool and set.
- Once the caramel has set, melt the chocolate and dip the caramel-coated pretzels into the melted chocolate; place them back on the parchment to set.
- Before the chocolate completely sets, drizzle with additional toppings like toffee bits, sprinkles, nuts, or melted white chocolate if desired.
- Any leftover caramel can be poured into a greased pan, cooled, cut into pieces, or wrapped for extras.
- Let the chocolate and caramel fully harden before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. For longer storage, refrigerate and bring to room temp before serving.
