These Homemade Easy Cheesy Pizza Pockets are the perfect quick snack or meal loaded with gooey cheese, your favorite toppings, and a golden crust baked to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- All-purpose flour (for dusting)
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cooked and chopped pepperoni or your preferred topping
- ½ cup pizza or marinara sauce
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
- Optional: Grated parmesan and dried herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
- Cut the dough into 8 equal squares or rectangles using a knife or pizza cutter.
- In the center of each piece, add 1–2 tbsp of pizza sauce, a sprinkle of mozzarella, cheddar, and your desired fillings (e.g., pepperoni).
- Fold over to form a pocket. Press edges with a fork to seal tightly.
- Brush with egg wash, then drizzle or brush olive oil or butter on top.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning or parmesan if desired.
- Bake for 13–15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
- Let cool slightly, serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Don’t overfill the pockets to avoid leaks. Use pre-shredded cheese for quicker prep. Try air frying at 375°F for 8–10 minutes for a crispier crust. Customize with mushrooms, olives, sausage, or spinach.
