Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until combined.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Pour the caramel over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
  8. Allow the chocolate to soften, then spread it evenly.
  9. Add any optional toppings, if desired.
  10. Let it cool completely before breaking into pieces.
