Description

A delightful side dish combining savory bacon and green beans with a rich, sweet sauce, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Place drained green beans in the prepared baking dish, pour the sauce mixture evenly over them, and toss to coat. Sprinkle with the crumbled bacon.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a little onion powder. Adjust sweetness to taste. Consider topping with crushed crackers for a crunchier texture.
