- 5 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
- 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
- 2/3 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towels, then crumble and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and pepper until smooth.
- Place drained green beans in the prepared baking dish, pour the sauce mixture evenly over them, and toss to coat. Sprinkle with the crumbled bacon.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a little onion powder. Adjust sweetness to taste. Consider topping with crushed crackers for a crunchier texture.
