Description
Dark chocolate covered cranberry sauce bites are a fun, fruity dessert combining tart cranberry sauce with rich, smooth chocolate. They’re easy to make and perfect for holidays or everyday treats.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14-ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
- 16 ounces dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother dipping)
Instructions
- Open your can of cranberry sauce and cut it into ½” thick discs (about 2 full “ribs” from the can imprint).
- Place the sauce rounds on a parchment- or silicone-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, then continue in 15-second increments until smooth.
- Using a fork, dip each frozen cranberry round into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. Place back on the baking sheet.
- Repeat with all rounds, then freeze for 30 minutes until the chocolate is fully set.
- Serve slightly thawed for best flavor and texture.
Notes
Try adding sprinkles or crushed nuts on top before the chocolate sets for extra flair. If using homemade cranberry sauce, ensure it’s thick enough to slice.
