Description

These Easy Grinch Cookies are fun, festive, and filled with holiday cheer, perfect for celebrating Christmas with family.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Green food coloring
  • Red candy hearts or M&M’s for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Add green food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  8. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Press a red candy heart or M&M on top of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
  11. Let the cookies cool on a wire rack.

Notes

For a softer texture, avoid overbaking and use room temperature butter. If dough is sticky, chill for 30 minutes before baking.
