These Easy Grinch Cookies are fun, festive, and filled with holiday cheer, perfect for celebrating Christmas with family.

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Green food coloring
- Red candy hearts or M&M’s for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Add green food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Press a red candy heart or M&M on top of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
- Let the cookies cool on a wire rack.
Notes
For a softer texture, avoid overbaking and use room temperature butter. If dough is sticky, chill for 30 minutes before baking.
