Description

Create your own adorable Bobo Cake at home! With fuzzy buttercream, fondant eyes, and monster charm, this easy cake is perfect for parties, birthdays, and viral bakes.

Ingredients

Scale

Cake Base

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

Frosting & Decorations

  • 3 cups buttercream (tinted with gel food coloring)

  • White and black fondant (for eyes and teeth)

  • Candy melts (optional for decoration)

  • Edible glitter or sprinkles (optional)

  • Gel food colors (pink, green, blue, etc.)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cake Batter:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round pans. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the wet mixture. Stir in vanilla.

  • Bake the Cake:
Pour batter evenly into pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely, then level the tops with a serrated knife.

  • Color the Frosting:
Divide buttercream into bowls and tint each with gel coloring for fur and accents.

  • Frost and Shape the Cake:
Stack cake layers with a frosting layer in between. Apply a crumb coat and chill for 20 minutes. Frost with colored buttercream using a grass or star tip to create the Bobo “fur.”

  • Decorate the Face:
Cut fondant to make large white eyes and black pupils. Use pink/red fondant or candy melts for the tongue and white fondant for teeth. Add facial features to bring your Bobo Cake to life.

  • Finishing Touches:
Add edible glitter, bows, or tiny fondant accessories. Chill cake for 30 mins before serving.

Notes

  • Use different food colors for theme customization (pastels for baby showers, neons for parties).

  • Store in refrigerator; bring to room temperature before serving.

  • Great for kids’ birthdays, baby showers, or Halloween.
