- 1 cup brown sugar, packed

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
- In another bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Cool on wire racks and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Make sure your butter is softened at room temperature for easier creaming with sugar. Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Try adding sea salt before baking for a different flavor.
