Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (cold and cut into ½-inch cubes)
  • ¼ cup fresh cranberries (finely chopped)
  • ½ tablespoon orange zest
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 teaspoons orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter cubes to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the chopped cranberries and orange zest until they are evenly distributed.
  5. Press the dough into a flat disk and wrap it in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Cut out cookies using your favorite cookie cutter.
  7. Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack.
  9. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with orange juice until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
