Description

A cheesy, beefy twist on classic meatloaf, this Philly Cheesesteak version brings bold flavors and comfort to your dinner table.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (4 for filling, 4 for topping)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté diced bell pepper and onion for 5 minutes until softened. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of a loaf pan.
  5. Layer 4 slices of provolone cheese over the meat. Add sautéed peppers and onions on top.
  6. Cover with the remaining meat mixture and press to seal the edges.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes. In the last 5 minutes of baking, place remaining provolone slices on top and return to oven until melted.
  8. Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
