Description

Delightful shortbread cookies with a buttery flavor and crumbly texture, easy to make with just a few simple ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until the dough comes together.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Roll the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Flatten slightly with a fork or your fingers.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Consider adding lemon or almond extract for a twist.
