Description

Soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies perfect for the winter season, enhanced with festive sprinkles for a holiday touch.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon festive sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  7. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Sprinkle festive sprinkles on top for a holiday touch, if desired.
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Warm or room temperature serving is best.
