- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon festive sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Sprinkle festive sprinkles on top for a holiday touch, if desired.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Warm or room temperature serving is best.
