Description

Delightful festive cookies with a buttery flavor, perfect for holiday gatherings. Simple to make and fun to decorate!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Green food coloring
  • Red and green sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually stir into the wet mixture.
  5. Add the almond extract and a few drops of green food coloring, mixing until the color is evenly distributed.
  6. Pack the dough into a cookie press and form wreath shapes on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Decorate with red and green sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on wire racks before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a container for a couple of months.
