A comforting dish that combines ground beef, cabbage, and rice into a hearty meal for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small cabbage, shredded
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, with juice
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned, about 7 minutes. Drain the fat.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes with juice, cooked rice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
  4. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes to blend the flavors together.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle some cheese on top before baking. Feel free to use different meats or add more vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
